The Common Misconception

How much do you get paid for writing a blog?’ And the answer is nothing.

A common misconception among non bloggers is that bloggers are paid large amounts of money for reviewing products and writing posts. Blogging is so much more than reviewing products, taking pictures and going to events. Whilst I cannot speak for other bloggers, I can honestly say I have no been paid a single penny since starting my blog of June last year.

When I started my blog, I was happy to see that people were interested to read what I was writing. The thought of earning money did not even occur on my mind. Through blogging I have met so many incredible people, both from the uk and abroad. These people have become my friends and I have found that we share common interests and talk on a daily basis.

I enjoy reading blog posts about fashion, beauty and lifestyle and two of favourite bloggers that I read on a daily basis are Elise Dopson and From Roses

Who are some of your favourite bloggers and why?

Better Than Wipes

Cleansing is a popular topic throughout the beauty community, its the fundamental step in our skincare routine which makes for fresh and clean skin. Micellar water has recently become a popular method of cleansing and for some has replaced makeup removal wipes. I asked for this product for Christmas as I had heard a lot of beauty bloggers raving about it and I had also read many outstanding reviews and wanted to try it out for myself.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is priced at £4.99 in Boots and SuperdrugThis heavy duty cleanser gives 200 uses. Like all micellar cleansers, it is gentle enough to use on eyes and lips and is completely perfume free, perfect for those who have sensitive skin. It removes make-up, cleanses and soothes with no need for rubbing or rinsing. Simply squeeze a little bit on to a cotton pad and it distributes itself across the pad. The product removes makeup really well and can even tackle waterproof mascara. Once all your makeup is removed it leaves your skin feeling soft and refreshed. I definitely will be repurchasing this product once I run out. It is cheap, affordable and does the job; I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a low budget makeup remover.
